Default Airfilter

Can a K&N drop-in air filter really mess up your MAF, mine has been going strong for almost a month now, or is this another urban myth.

Default What I have read is that owners don't re-oil it properly...and they over saturate the media

which will cause your MAF to get oily.

The K&N filter comes over-oiled from the factory.

Then shouldn't we see a lot of MAF problems on cars with brand-new K&Ns?

It takes a while to ruin a MAF. K&N filters are useless in our cars anyway.

Why do you say they're useless, I think I gained 5 - 8 HP and the throttle response is crisper IMHO
