Anyone else buy the Tire Rack Dunlop M3 winter tire package with Sport Edition F6 wheels?
I ordered my A4 late October and bought the winter tire package in November since I knew they would be sold-out by the time my car came in. My car arrived last week so I put the winter tires on right away. I noticed a little vibration around 60 mph and thought it may be a wheel out of balance. But now the vibration is getting worse...50 to 70 mph. I called Tire Rack and others have had similar problems so they removed the F6 wheels from the A4 compatibility list. They want me to try adding a spacer to the hub but I'm ready to just send the F6 wheels back. Anyone using a 16" wheel they are happy with? I had winter tires on AT Italia S5 wheels for my allroad and never had any problems. (Plus I luckliy noticed that the OE lug wrench won't fit in the holes on the F6 wheels, so I have to carry a 17 mm socket wrench)

I went with the F5s, no problems. All that is different is a slightly diff design on the spoke.
Weight is identical.
Have you tried getting it check out at a location that has a hunter GSP9700? It measures roadforce and runout on the wheel . . . can also tell you if the tire is bad or if the wheel is bad.
I'm using the hub rings that tirerack provided . . . . no issues.

Fine with 16" ASA JH3 Wheels
Make sure you use the hub centering rings as I understand it you cannot rely on the lug bolts to center the wheel. I'm surprised that they didn't send you the hub rings in your package.
Anyways, how do they fit around the front brakes? Mine are pretty tight with prob less than 1/4" clearance...
So far everything ok, although I don't particularly like the look of JH3 wheels. Only went with them because they were the only ones they had in stock. Should have gone steel instead and saved some bucks. Anyone know if 16" steel wheels even fit?

You are correct about centering on the hub. I had an Audi technician look at the wheels...
Audi wheels are "hub centric" while some of the other manufacturers use "lug centric" wheels. Without the hub ring I have no hope of getting rid of the vibration. I only have 1/8" clearance between the caliper and wheel weights which will be a problem if I get ice/mud buildup inside the wheel. Worse yet, the F6 wheels have V-shaped lug holes and the Audi bolts have rounded contact points. There is a chance that the vibration could loosen the lug bolts. Apparently Tire Rack should not have matched the F6 wheels with the A4. Of course that is why Tire Rack now removed them from the list of A4 compatible wheels.
