APR or GIAC ECU tune?

APR or GIAC ECU tune?
I've heard good things about APR and GIAC ECU tunes. Does anyone know of any reason why I should go with one over the other? A guy I was talking to said that APR actually solders an addition to the ECU. I don't know if he was full of bull or not.

Just go with the brand that has a tuner closest to you. Always nice to have support when you need it. I've had both and each one is great. On the B7 there is no soldering for APR or GIAC. It's all a reprogram flash.

And I'd suggest APR over GIAC.

I would also recommend Unitronic. Great program! Also upgradeable for big turbo applications should you need to go bigger in the future. Overall, the general consensus seems to be to go the the dealer that you like the most or is closest to you. At the end of the day, most of the programs are fairly similar.

Hey ya'll I'm new here and also my very first Audi, but iv'e been a gearhead for 30 plus years. So my ? is on the APR Programmer on a some what stock set up beeing cai and cat back how much of a h.p. increase can i expect on 1 of the performance tunes. Thanks Charles
