APR vs Neuspeed
I just bought a black 2006 A4 2.0T Tip last month and love every bit of it! Before that I don't know anything else except Toyota and Honda :-( I am thinking about chipping my A4 next spring. I have done some reading on this forum and some internet research, and it seems APR or Neuspeed would do it nicely. Can you give me your opinions about the pros and cons of each? Also, is it worth it to chip a Tiptronic?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I've posted this many times...here's my experience.
Although i have an A3 DSG it is the same engine so the program is almost identical for both cars. here's my experience.
"Without starting a chip war and just posting my honest experience...I can tell you right now that I have just done multiple runs off the line against my cousin's week-old APR chipped A3 DSG..switching cars, as well as some highway runs. Every single time I pulled on him and on the freeway it was more dramatic... He has the 91 program on this car as we are in California. Also, just so people know, APR didn't seem to remove the speed limiter as it tops out at 135 as mine keeps going. Even when he switched to driving my car he pulled on me, while I was driving his. The initial torque feel is almost similar but the Neuspeed just pulls so much harder for a longer period of time. It also feels smoother. Take it for what its worth as APR has its cult pedigree followers and I don't discount their products at all. I'm simply describing my experience in this instance. But if you ask me for an honest opinion having driven both, Neuspeed's chip is simply better. And, yes, My cousin is going to switch to POO-Speed. Drive on!!"

I would suggest your cousin be reflashed.
If his speed limiter is not removed he must have somehow received pre-release code. He may visit any APR dealer to receive his free update.

why is everyone pro apr when neuspeed is cheaper and has better numbers, and performance....
I don't understand it. Just because they used to have the better chip back then, now neuspeed is the better choice. What is everyone holding on to?

so reflash should do the trick??
its funny when i asked my car to be flashed on waterfest, APR told me that they remove the limiter. never mentioning anything about pre-release code that still has the limiter.
so there i was, driving fast trying to follow this cayenne turbo .. 120mp..125mph..135mph..135mph.. 135..?!?!? the cayenne blasted away to 155mph and left me in the dust. true i might not be able to beat that SUV on steroids, but it'd be awesome to stay on his tail a little bit longer.. oh well..
