Audi OEM iPod Integration
What about the Audi OEM iPod solution (http://www.apple.com/ipod/ipodyourcar/)? I've heard that one of the disadvantages is that you cannot use the iPod itself when connected, only the head unit/steering wheel controls.
How does it sound? How hard to install? Any issues?

Dension IceLink+
You can:
- control the iPod with the steering wheel controls or the headunit only when in the Dension UI mode
- control the iPod with the steering wheel controls or the headunit or with the iPod when using the iPod UI mode
- sounds is as good as you can get with an analog hookup; there is a bit of a hiss at high volumes probably from the Dension interface
- hookup is easy, hardest part is finding somebody to borrow the radio keys; there is a PDF on how the interface is installed on Densions website

Re: Audi OEM iPod Integration
Can anyone also confirm that it ONLY allows control of your iPod with the radio track and disc buttons, and NOT the steering wheel controls?

Answer to your Audi integration unit questions
With regards to the Audi unit:
-iPod controls can not be used
-sound is good
-you CAN use the steering wheel controls
-installation is a huge PITA (from experience) and a special tool is needed.
-it will affect Sat radio if you have it
-it will play 5 playlists or entire iPod catalog
-it will shuffle (playlist or total catalog)
My advice...consider the Audi unit if you can get dealer to give you a deal on install. If doing self install, go Dension.

Re: Dension IceLink+
In regards to the hiss it's only there when it's cranked at heard in between songs so in 95% of the time I don't hear it.
I'd say besides this, the sound between the Blitzsafe and the Dension should be identical as it is an analog signal you're feeding into the headunit, it's NOT digital.
