According to the dealer, It's sitting at port right now, scheduled to depart December 26th, and arrive at port in the US 2nd week in January. It should be in my driveway by the 3rd week in January.
So a little over 2 months between ordering it and having it here.

Ordered 3.2 Avant on 10-20-05; car arrived at dealer 12-15-05
My dealer traded another dealer for their allocation on a 3.2 Avant and luckily it was still a changeable order so I had a few days to decide colors and options.
But when ordering a car, the one factor that determines how quickly you get the car is not how fast Audi can produce it, but rather whether the ordering dealer has an active allocation for the particular car you want to buy.
Any dealer will tell you they can order you a car, but the fact is that small dealers with limited allocation and who haven't been given an allocation for a particular model and drivetrain cannot always just call their Audi rep to get one. If the dealer has to wait for an allocation, it could be months and months before your car arrives. They either have to wait for one or trade for one with another dealer.
Without an allocation, they can't even place an order.

. Ordered late September- Dec 26th expected delivery
I ordered A4 3.2 Sept. 29- dealer had to wait 2 weeks for his allocation spot. Original expected delivery date was January 5th. Called 2 weeks ago to say it's on the way and should be here Dec. 26th. Nice christmas present!

Re: holy crap that's fast...Yep and the funny thing is
It had to be built to order since we had wood trim, sport suspension and dolphin gray as the options (sold order only).
The build date was Oct 2005 and the car actually arrived at the dealer Nov 9th. We picked it up Nov 12th. That is the quickest turn around I've ever seen. Especially since it's built across the pond..... Very impressive.
