B7 RS4 Replica Wheels -- On The Car
I put on my B7 RS4 replica wheels this morning and snapped some pics. Compared to the 5-spoke 18" S-line wheels that weigh 30 lbs a rim, the 18" RS4 replica wheel weigh 26 lbs a rim. Both rims are 18x8 in size. As for the RS4 rep wheels....
<b><u>PROs</U></b>
- Lighter
- Gunmetal color doesn't make brake dust stand out as much
- OEM centercap and lugnut caps fit
- Sporty looking wheel
<b><u>CONs</U></b>
- Very close to brake calipers. Don't know if they'll clear S4 brakes
- Even though they're 38mm offset, it sure doesn't look like it
- H&R spacers will not work unless you either grind the spacer hub-centric ring to a perfect cylinder, or put the wheel on a mill and use a conical bit to bore the center-bore of the wheel to accept the H&R spacer (this actually pissed me off a lot today, so I'm going to be grinding down my H&R spacer to make it work with these wheels)
Overall, I'm satisfied with the look of them and how the car looks. Here are some pics I took:

True, but not for another $750
That's about how much more it would've cost me to get the 19" RS4 rep wheels, and tires to go with it. Since my tires were brand new, I just swapping them over from the standard S-line 18" wheels.

Looks great, Old and New side by side for comparison

They're Stratmosphere wheels
Hartmann didn't have them in stock at the time, and now they do. I still got them at a great deal from Stratmosphere with their 15% off sale so I'm happy overall, except for the wheel spacer issue.
