This is some pretty general information on fuel quality and engine oil specifications. If you are not
that up to date on your information regarding fuel quality, this is a pretty simple starting point to
help you get going.

Now that we know which stations are top tier. Which would you fill up at? Lets say your driving down the road and come upon a Chevron, 76, and a Shell station. Which do you visit to treat your precious Audi the way she should be treated? Or would there be little difference between them? Is it a coincidence that the pictures in your article all seem to have a Shell logo?

I personally always use 76 or Mobil.
I wish I had a higher octane than 91 in Ca. I know my car wants higher octane.
I know of a 76station in NorCal that sells 93 Octane. Anyone know of any SoCal stations that sell anything higher than 91?

Yeah we only get 92 up here in Oregon and I am jealous of all the folks that have ready access for 93. I wish I knew of a local station that would do 93. I have tried different stations and it could be just my imagination but it does seem like it might like Shell the best.

Octane levels
Only with a chip tune specifically designed for higher octane. Some of the popular ECU upgrades effectively allow to specify the octane level & the timing will be set more aggressively to take advantage of it.
However, if you put race gas (100 octane) or anything much higher than 91 in a stock 2.0T, you're wasting your money.

In Illinois and Michigan, all I ever used from day one is 93 octane. I suppose the only time you won't find 92 or 93 out here is if you're lost in farmland.
Looks like I always took it for granted.

I've only used Shell Premium (93) and Mobile 1 from day one in my 1997 VW Jetta GLX which now has 150,000+ miles on it and still running strong with no engine issues, ever. Because of that, I will continue to only use Shell Premium (93) and Mobile 1 in my 2007 A4.
