I installed a Parrot CK3000 Bluetooth kit a couple of weeks ago and couldn't be happier with the kit. The install is now available as a FAQ https://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec134.shtml

I stuck the controls for the unit to the dash with doublesided tape as a temporary measure. I was eyeing the panel next to the headlight switch and thinking it would be a perfect spot to mount the CK3000 controls.

I ordered a blank panel from the dealership ($14 with shipping). I never turn off the `coming home' lights, so my plan was to remove the OEM switch and stuff it back into the dash so that it could be accessed through the fuse panel. The new panel was on my doorstep when I got home last night, so I got to work.

Push on the back of the stock panel and it pops forward. Disconnect the wires, relocate the switch panel and reconnect.

The only criticism I have of the Parrot kit is the control panel. It's larger than I would prefer and it's nearly .75-inch thick. I could mount it to the new panel with doublestick tape, but it would stick out too much IMO.

I used a dremel tool to open a hole in the Audi panel to that the back of the Parrot contol could be mounted flush. I glued the panel into place and used a little bondo to cover my mistakes and painted it with a bit of flat black.

I reassembled the Parrot controls and snapped the panel into the dash.

The location is perfect and recessing the controls makes it look much more stock and less aftermarket. I'm considering painting the silver portions of the control, but ran out of time last night.

I followed your excellent instructions and did the same install. But I'm having a lot of complaints from the people I talk to about the sound quality. How's yours?

It works fine when I'm parked or going really slow (&lt;10mph) and the AC is not running. I read on the parrot forums that it might be related to the microphone being directional.

Just ordered all the supplies to do the same install on my B7. I will keep you posted as to how it goes. Have you found any more info on a way to use the audi steering controls?
