boost surging

Hi guys

I'm new to this whole euro car thing
Recently bought a 2007 a4 B7 1.8t
And I'm already experiencing an issue with the boost and I think it's called "boost surging" when reaching high revs car start to stall, like it's pulsing if that make sense. Has anyone here had this issue before and how did you fix the problem?

Thanks
Troy

Yes, it does sound similar to a boost issue. You may want to remove and check the diverter valve. If there's smoke coming out of your exhaust that is a clear sign of tubo seals worn out. It can also be as simple as a faulty evap purge valve (n80). The vacuum system on these cars are very synergistic. If worst case scenario take it to a audi mech and have him do a boost leak test or otherwise. There should be some trouble codes logged in your cars ECU if you are experiencing the symptoms like you said. Good luck

No the 1.8 has one too. It's also called the evaporated purge valve.

I just ordered the same parts for the 1.8T B7.

Diverter valve - P/N 06A145710N - the 710N & now 710P are the latest versions, yours probably has different last 3 numbers. You will need 2 * 25mm hose clamps as well.

Waste gate (N75) P/N 06A906283E.

Of course, when you say high revs, are you pushing to max revs and hitting the limiter?
