I was out with friends this weekend and a total of 4 people in the car. It was a nice and sunny day and I had the A/C running. During our drive, I went through a toll booth and when I accelerated heavy from 0, the car built RPMs as normal and shifted fine until it was in 4th gear, then i noticed that the power seemed to stop and the RPMs dropped slightly and the trans would not shift into 5 gear. I let my foot completely off the gas and then it finally shifted into 5th and then 6th.
I was able to replicate this again later in the day. The check engine light did come on as well.

This morning on my way to work (alone) I was not able to replicate this shifting abnormality again and the check engine light was off.

Has this happened to anyone before? Comments?

I have an appt. with the audi dealer tomorrow, but wanted some input.
