Car won't unlock

Car won't unlock
I've got a b7 a4 avant that isn't unlocking. This happened a couple months ago, but there was a AAA person parked next to me that got into my car for me so I was ok. When I press the fob, I see the auto light on my headlight dial turn on but the car doesn't unlock. My lock cylinder is frozen and has never worked. Never worried about it because I had my key fob. The avant doesn't have a trunk lock cylinder so I can't use any other locks to get in. The remote has brand new batteries as of a couple months ago just in case that was the problem. Now today it's 3 degrees so maybe that has something to do with it, but I'm not sure what to do other than have someone break into my car again to use it. Any ideas as to what might be going on?

How exactly did AAA get into your car? These cars are very difficult to break into.
If somehow you managed to disconnect the car battery, the immobilizer forgets the frequency. You might've figured this out by now, insert key and turn, but don't proceed to ignition. Just turn off and remove key, then press your lock and open. Should work
If not, there could be something wrong with the immobilizer unless he ****ed something up mechanically. Try dis and reconnecting your car battery and start from there.
