Default Could the guy from apr on this forum post

Is a cvt capable of handling a 273lb foot of torque i just want stage one for my new b7 arriving in 3 weeks. And stage one is as far as i will go just want the extra power for hiway driving and just offf da line other than that i also just want the dealer not to notice so i would like an apr tech to anser this post thanks.

Default i seriously doubt the cvt tranny will be capapble of handling that much Torque...

I remember the cvt on the B6 being relatively weak and if the B7's is anything like that, then you're out of luck.

I did but the guy in toronto just said yea its more than capable though he still cant gurantee anything i just wanted the guy from apr on our forum just to let me know im also in Toronto, Canada. Quite expensive for teh full set up here
its about $1200.00.

Default I would be really afraid. Search the B6 forum for CVT problems.

We got rid of our B6 A4 w/ CVT to get a B7 w/o CVT because of the problems with it. The CVT was nice to drive though....sooo smooth. It is nice to have quattro now and a tranny that I don't have to worry about. Not sure if there were any upgrades in the CVT from the B6 to B7??
