Default Dead batttery

Just for reference, the wife's 2007 A4 Quattro(51k) had been acting up for only a few start ups, luckly she got it home and told me the "battery might be dead". Went out to the garage and tried to start it up and got maybe a half a crank out of it, then nothing, no click, click, click, just dead. Picked up a exact replacement from NAPA $156+tax (made by DEKA, excellent battery mfg). changed it out with no problems. On start up with new battery, the radio came right back on. The only thing was the ESP (traction control) was illuminated, a short run down the drive allowed it to reset and all is well. I always look on this board before doing any work on the A4, you all have been a great help, thanx

Well....everything worked except that the keyless remote wouldn't work. Checked the manual for the reset procedure, followed said procedure and it seems that now it operates differently? When locking the car the parking lights don't flash nor does it seem to chirp on the second press, but these functions appear when hitting the unlock button. just seems odd that it would operate kinda reverse of what it did before the dead battery. Any ideas?

Just to confirm, is this the procedure you followed to the letter?

Yes that would be the one. Even tried it again after finding the operation was sort of backwards. Maybe I'll try it again later. The remote works, just not as I remember or expected.
