Does a new A4 rattle?
I'm looking at a 2006 A4 after researching the Acura TL and Saab 9-3 and learning that a lot of new owners complain of rattles. I haven't heard that about the A4, but want to be sure.
Also, I'm not looking to spend a TON of money, but want something that's really cool. What options do I really need? I'm thinking the S-Line package after looking at the pictures here in the forum. Also, for some reason I feel like I need navigation.
Thanks!

depends on the driving conditions (roads) and also how much wear the suspension has
You'll get rattles from any car...its not the brand but more of how the owner maintains the vehicle.
I have a B6 (04) and mine doesn't rattle at ALL! Even 2 of my rims got bent but I still don't witness any rattles.

Creaks around the door more often than anything else
A bit of grease around the seals greatly helps. First use of the sunroof this year, once it was closed, nothing but creaks from the sunroof. Cleaned the seals and the area where the seals makes contact with the roof and applied a bit of grease all around and everything is silent again.
Then there are those annoying ones that seems to come and go, something in the passenger seat but nothing when there's somebody sitting there, a clicking noise in the headrest when my head rests against it, and the red button in the seatbelt harness that was halfway up after sombody was using it and rattling away (took me a while to find that one).

Mine developed a rattle only after first dealer service
Annoying rattle behind the audio panel, sounds like plastic against metal on bumpy roads.
But first 6 months were dead quiet.

Re: Mine has a few too...
I have noticed rattles on rough roads as well. It seems to be coming somewhere in the proximity of the B-pillar almost by the Oh-crap handles.
Is this something the dealer can/will fix on an almost new (1500 miles) B7? Anyone else have similar rattles?

Agreed, it's covered by the warranty...
My last car was an '02 Jetta and it developed new rattles every other week (not really, but it seemed like it did). Whenever my Audi/VW service manager saw me walk in he knew I wasn't there for an oil change or anything else. I took it in at least 7 different times to fix different rattles...no charge.
