Default failed test pipe install...

so my friend and i tried to do the test pipe install and all we had were 16" jack stands... still not enough ground clearance to get the damn cat and downpipe out... after HOURS and HOURS of trying to get bolts off we couldn't squeeze the damn pipes out... any suggestions?

Yeah, with a lift and some PB Blaster, should take you all of an hour to replace the cat with a TP.

Did you try to get to the cat/DP bolts or just the turbo/cat and DP/rear section bolts?

i did the turbo/cat bolts and the DP/rear section and tried pulling it out that way. i got something very similar to PB blaster and while the bolts were off and while trying to slide the whole cat/DP off i did attempt to removed the bolts from the cat/DP but had no room to really reach for it or just didn't have an angle to unscrew any of it.

really. i was able to get the cat/flex section and lower section (attached to cat-back) out without too much trouble and had much less clearance than you. You gotta just rotate it in a odd way and it finally slides down.

you probably had better technique than me and my friend... hahahaha i just got my test pipe installed this morning and i really do like it. if anyone out there is thinking of doing this cheap upgrade, do it now. it's nice how at around 3500+rpms you can start hearing the turbo whirring... kind of a cool sound. i can definitely feel a little more push out of my car now... next up is the HPFP from APR to compliment the test pipe and then an exhaust
