Default family car idea, a4 avant 2.0t tip or a4 avant 3.2 tip?

i currently drive a a3 2.0t dsg so i'm very happy with the 2.0 fsi engine and with the gas price nowadays we're leaning toward the 2.0t avant. since we probably gonna go with the tiptronic and the avant is a little heavier than the sedan i'm wondering is a 2.0t avant tiptronic feel underpowered and slow? for those who have them does the acceleration seem sluggish?

honestly i would look at the 3.2

i have driven a few 2.0T tips (I have a manual) and in my opinion there is something slushy about how it feels.

since your used to the DSG, i'm thinking you may come to a similar conclusion. i really felt the tip brought the worst out of the engine (roughness, use of powerband, etc)

Default I have a 2.0T manual and it's great.

BUT, If I had to buy a tip, then I'd get the 3.2.

i would definitely take the 2.0 6-speed over the 2.0 tip

as for the 3.2 tip/2.0t 6-speed question i think that comes down to what your looking for. if your going to be keeping it stock and it will really be more of a family car i would say yeah 3.2. if your planning on modding a bit, then maybe 2.0

i'm more just pointing out that i really disliked the 2.0/tip combination

my father has the 3.2 tip and its way better, but its an a6, so i'm guessing the transmission is different

Default I'm very satisfied with the 2.0T, but depends how many people you haul, lol

I took the A4 to tahoe this pass weekend and I'm surprised with the 2.0T.. I havent even flashed the ECU yet.. very different from my old 1.8T, lots of torque.. it depends on your needs, if youre hauling 5 adults, get the 3.2
remember my last car was a cayenne turbo, i should be the one complaining...but with the gas mileage, power and awd, i'm pretty satisfied..good luck on your decision.. for me if you really want a difference you should get a 3.2 A6 avant, I dont see a real space difference going from an A3 to an A4, just my opinion..also the DSG in the A3 should be better...

i don't have any kids yet but am planing on having one soon. the a4 avant just gonna be my wife's car and we don't need the a4 to haul heavy load we have the honda pilot for that.

Default 4.0V6... in an Explorer... :-)

My kids are a little older now, and I rarely even let them eat in the car, but I remember all of the messes, dirt, muddy soccer shoes, *****, wet clothes, etc., etc.

Plus all the other crap you gotta haul anyway for babies or toddlers. And it hurts to bend over to lift the kids in or out if the car isn't a little higher.

I loved our Explorers and I loved our Suburbans.

Yes, I know they use gasoline, trust me. But they worked so well.
