The fastest STOCK A4 is...???
Now that the 3.2 CVT is out, wouldn't this unit be the fastest? Is there any data in the latest A4 brochure that states 0-60 times?

no, still the 3.2quattro. too much power for the front wheels
look at the passat 3.2 and 3.2 4motion numbers. the fwd model is 6.6 while the awd is under 6. it's to much power and torque for the front wheels to manage.

yeah, but that engine didn't produce the power the 3.2 does,
the 3.2 has too much power for a fwd car to be able to put down all the power efficiently. you can't floor that car and go in a straight line, there's not enough traction. 255hp is way to much for the front wheels too handle. the general consensus is that 210 ~ 220 is the max a fwd car should have
the 3.0 cvt was faster than the quattro because it was lighter and could actually put all its power down

i always heard....
I never drove one, but I always heard that the old 1.8T's were faster than the V6's. anyone else ever hear that 'rumor'?
is the new 3.2 much faster than the 2.0T? i love my 05.5 2.0T, and i didnt want to spend the money on the V6, or the gas, or the insurance.

The 3.2 is decidedly quicker than any stock 2.0T
I drove both several times before deciding on a 3.2. Coming from a 2.7T, I wasn't willing to go with 2.0T, which to me felt strained to be at all adequate in the acceleration department. I'm sure it would be nice with a chip.
In the test drives I didn't really push it to know how quick it would be, but after two weeks with the 3.2, I am quite happy with the decision. The 3.2 engine sounds are just icing on the cake.

Agreed
I had the 2.0T and the 3.2 for consecutive overnight test drives. At first blush the 2.0T feels "quicker" due to the turbo. But the 3.2 is considerably faster...with much more power and torque available in all gears and at all speeds. When I returned the 3.2 I also test drove a B6 S4 avant they had on the lot -- In terms of comparison, the 3.2 felt closer to the S4 than the 2.0T was to the 3.2. In fact more than a few people refer to the 3.2 as the "baby S4".
