A Fool and His Money
Like a chump, I went for the 05.5 A4. I'm OK with this car: I have felt from day 1 that something is just missing with this vehicle. Well, my dealer gave me an 06 loaner today and I know exactly what's missing. The 06 feels completely different; the steering is tighter, the suspension is tweaked. The car feels simply more buttoned-down than the ponderous, vague, fake-steering 05.5. I now regret my choice, unfortunately.

Re: A Fool and His Money
It is not a matter of being a fool, however I agree. After driving a friend's 2005.5 I started thinking of leasing an A4. By time I got around to doing it it was "06' s are here" time, so I got one for 24 months. I too believe the steering, suspension and general dynamics (as well as the fit and finish) of the 06 is much better. You are not the fool, Audi is to blame for rushing the 2005.5 to market in an attempt to recapture market share, then when they saw the number of "fixes" needed to make it really special and competitive, they figured it was easier to come out with the re-worked, refined product as a 2006 than it was to recall and fix all the 2005.5 problems. Just my 2 cents.

Re: 2005.5 or a 2006 with the same options should drive/feel no different
My salesman happened to be working and told me that the suspension was "tweaked" on the 06. The steering was clealry re-calibrated. The 05.5 is, in my opinion, an inferior product compared to the 06. Both cars have 17inch tires, non-sport suspension.

heh i have a 2005.5 and never drove an '06, but think...
u guys are mistaken in thinking the 06 is any different. They are the same cars, but just have different package options. thinking the car feels better is just a placebo like effect since u think it must be better since an 06 imo
