08 A4 Quattro S line - how do I get rid of the large license plate front grill indent and just get a standard band there with maybe some chrome strips ?? Does the entire grill have to be replaced or does just the license plate band come off.

You can purchase a filler strip and replace just that piece. It will be essential to make sure it is for the S-line grille, and the correct color since they come in grey or black (gloss and matte). Many places sell them online (like ESC tuning) or you can checkout Audizine classifieds, there are always a bunch on there.

To replace it however, you must remove the whole front bumper, which is actually not to difficult.
