Well after months of agonizing over A3 3.2 vs A4 Avant 2.0T, I went with the A4.

It came down to Price in the end. As much as I love the A3 it had a 2500 premium over the A4, and a crappy residual and % and I just couldn't make the numbers work.

So this new A4 compliments my existing 2002 A4 1.8TQ Sedan.

Specs:
2006 2.0TQAvant - Quartz Grey / Ebony / Premium / Sunroof

2002 1.8TQ - Amulet Red / Grey / Sport / Sunroof / Cold Weather / GIAC

Picking it up Saturday.
Interesting factoid, this car is $100 (per 6 months) less on insurance over the '02. Probably cause its silver, has no sports package and its a wagon... but really, they probably cost the same to fix so I dont quite get it.

The B7 got very high crash-test marks by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and is considered a relatively safe-bet for insurance companies, as most people who buy the A4 don't tend to constantly race them (the same can't be said for the S4).

I went from a B6 '04 A4 Avant Ultrasport to a B7 '05.5 A4 sedan - both silver, both quattro manuals - and State Farm raised my premium by about $25 a month. The Avant drivers are safer drivers than the sedan drivers, or at least get into fewer accidents. Simple math, I guess...
