Groaning from servo area under light braking

Groaning from servo area under light braking
Mornin'
2005 A4 B7 3.0 TDi quattro
once the car is hot, under certain conditions, a light application of the brakes causes a pronounced groaning noise from the servo area (centre dash, engine compartment). Further harder deppesion of the pedal and the noise goes. Is there a check/non return valve in the vacuum line that could be playing up? If so, does anyone know the part number I need to order? If not, any other wisdom?
