has anyone here done this before
i have a 3 yr lease on a 2005.5 A4 sedan. i want a wagon now, and want to lease a 2006 or 2007 avant for two years and want to give the a4 back to the dealer, and finish out my two remaining years on the lease with an avant. has anyone here done anything like this before. should i expect a big charge for terminating my lease early or anything like that? any help would be appreciated.
btw, this will probably come up so, the reason i'm doing this is because i have the a4 sedan, my dad is looking for an avant to lease for two years. he loves the a4 avant, and i wouldn't mind going into a gti (more sporty, lower payments). and the audi dealership i got the a4 from also sells vw's.

Unfortunately you have answered your question in the first sentence: you have a 3-year lease. To figure-out what it would cost you to end the lease now, add the remaining lease payments to the residual value of the car. If that amount is less than the present value of the car, you're in business, sell the car. If the amount is more than the car's present value, then that's what you will owe. [Of course, "present value" is what someone is willing to pay you for the car.]

In order to get out of a previous lease.....
I had to pay off the remaining payments - some fees...it cost me almost $3000 but I was getting a company car so it was well worth it.
A lease is a contract on the specific vehicle you can't just transer from vehicle to vehicle.

Your name is still on the paperwork though....
I'd be very weary about having someone take over the lease. Even if you tell AoA that someone else will be taking it over, you name is still associated with it, as is your credit...
