HELP!! Looking at buying an 2008 A4 S-line
Guys, I'm new to the forum and after using many communities in the past I figured it best to start here. I'm looking at buying a used A4 for my son as a first car. Any help, things to look for and opinions are welcomed.
Here is a little background on the data I have to date. I found this 08 A4 with 118k miles on it on Craigslist and started conversations with the seller. He claims to be a ASE certified mechanic working at a Audi dealer ship for 8 years and has replaced the timing belt and cam chain for reliability. I'm going to look at the A4 tonight after work with cash in hand if needed. I personally when younger was heavily into Jeep modification, break/fix etc and fairly technical but know nothing about these cars.
How have you guy's experiences been with these cars, looking at the forum I mainly get to see issues?
What are the common problems for a 118K A4?
I like the looks of the car personally but don't want to get into spending my weekends replacing parts.

You posted on a Monday morning. It will take a bit for people to see it and reply. You also kind of answered your own question after 1 hour.
As far as views I am not exactly sure how this forum does it but search engine bots can raise view counts but they aren't actually people reading it.

I had mine since new and have done regular maintenance - mileage is 149,000 Km so not high at all.
Maintenance items have been 4 x coil packs, cam follower, timing belt, battery, brakes and tires. Oil changes every year (some say every 5000 km) but I've followed the dealer recommendation and don't have any issues. Oil consumption is more than the Honda's I used to have but it's manageable and I just make sure I check the level on a monthly basis.
Faults have been:

Faults have been:
- rear seat belt buckle (under warranty)
- PCV (under warranty)
- broken glovebox hinge
- 4 wheel bearings at 130,000km
- recirculation flap motor

The 2.0 t is third on the engines most to avoid
Timing belt
Chain tensioner failure
Cam follower failures
Thermostat failures
Coolant flange failures
Balance shaft/ oil pump failures
Leaking oil cooler housings
And the automatic is weak
Post on audizine. Way more traffic for this model
