Unfortunately this is a common problem on our models. I found that purchasing an anti-flickering device rectified the issue. You may need to purchase the additional wiring harness as well. But I'd start with the sole device first and go from there if the problem persists.
The part number on Amazon is KENSUN-2WAC-HT, and it's roughly $10.00 so not much is lost if it doesn't work and you can have it delivered overnight. If this doesn't solve it, which it should then feel free to purchase the recommended wiring harness as well. I initially bought LED's for conversion but it didn't solve it. When I bought the anti-flickering combo it corrected the light malfunction. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

One more thing, I'm sure you've heard the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". This is PARAMOUNT for Audi's. So if its only the one side being intermittent, don't install the anti-flickering device on the other side until/if it becomes a problem. Replacing working parts on Audi's most likely will lead to other problems.

No problem. I'd recommend grabbing a couple zip ties if you have any laying around as well. It's not required, but is more a safety precaution I took since I didn't want to take the chance of any of the wires shifting anywhere and touching something hot and melting them. You can just attach them to any nearby wiring harness in the car, preferably towards the coolant side of the engine where you see other wires running. Enjoy!
