How to "VAG items"
yes, i know, im clueless! i read the post "Most commonly VAG'd items in the B7", and im amazed because i didn't even know this existed! so i researched this and found the website, and damn is that stuff expensive! i'd much rather spend the money on chipping than some software and a computer cable to get rid of the seatbelt chime! are there other options, like would an APR dealer have the equiptment and be willing to do it? OR maybe, someone out there in the denver area that has a generous heart, good karma, and some freetime on saturday afternoon?? i'll buy ya some lunch! and finally, anyone have a list of ALL the cool stuff you can do on a B7 A4? i read the vag website and i think i was looking at the right list but it's all a little technicial for me!

It is more valueable than just getting rid of the chime, etc...
first of all I have a B6 so I'm not sure what you guys are capable of "VAG'ing", but I was able to... setup my fogs to run independent of headlights, windows up/down with remote, doors lock at 10 mph, all doors unlock when i remove the key, 1 click unlocks driver's door only, etc.
Now to the part where it is more valueable than just changing settings 1 time. It is used to check fault codes your car may throw. Helps you to identify what is wrong with it. Very valueable to people with chipped cars to check their faults before bringing the car to the dealer, etc.
I myself do not own one, but a friend did, so I got the VAG-Com mods for free
I leave you with an animated picture I created of just fog lights without headlights..
(sometimes it lags due to a slow server, but it should be seamless)
