How long does it really take to get a car?
I ordered my A4 3.2 at the end of September. The salesman told me it would probably be here end of Noveber. He just got the factory ETA which is Jan. 2nd.
What has been the norm for everyone else?

It kinda depends on what you order.
I ordered a 3.2Q 6-speed manual at the end of August, and its ETA is 11/21...

Too long for me. I'm already getting impatient waiting for my car to get from port in NJ to LI, NY.
And I'm giving up my color of choice, sport suspension, and parktronic with this car. But I'll have it next week.

I first looked at the 06's the Tues. after Labor Day 05; signed a lease Sept. 13; the car came in from the Rhode Island dock, was prepped and I could have picked it up 9/30, but waited until the next day , Sat. 10/1. I suppose it depends where you live and how specific you are on spec'ing out the car. I got exactly what I wanted and they even had two others I could have gotten just as timely that would have satisfied me.

Ordered a car with deposit 4 weeks ago and still no paperwork!
I placed an order with my dealer 4 weeks ago for an '06 A4 Avant 2.0T, the dealer took check as a deposit with only a cash receipt and note that sales price would be $1200 over dealer invoice, and as of today still no VIN, no final sales price, no confirmation car is being built and no delivery date. Am I gettting hosed or is this typical approach when ordering from factory as dealer says? Seems screwy to me.
