How much can I get for my car?
Well, the engine is shot in my 2005.5 A4 Quattro 2.0T. I don't know how much to ask for it since KBB et al only give quotes for running vehicles. The exterior has a few rust spots, but nothing that is really noticible unless you're really looking for it. The interior is in great shape. Has Working AC/heat, heated seats, on board navigation, 6-CD changer, sun roof...Maybe more, but since buying it a year ago I've only gotten to drive it for a total of 16 days, so I'm not terribly familiar with it. I live in Minneapolis, MN (55423), if that makes a big difference with it not running & all. Thanks for the input! I really appreciate it.

If you scrap it just for metal maybe $500 for the metal, I guess the question would be how blown is the engine. I would say Audi's aren't very forgiving to work on, but if you have a manual and follow it to the T it's not too bad. I would take whatever the cost of a new engine or parts to make it run off the KBB value around $3,000-3,500 and go from there. If you need a new cylinder head, a rebuilt one on ecs tuning is $2,300, which doesn't include labor to install it.
So short answer is, if it needs an entire engine it'll cost more to fix than it's worth. But if you know that a $1000 part can fix it then maybe $2,000.

Thank you
That's kinda what I thought, and unfortunately it isn't a stick. A friend said 'you can sell it for $1500" - which is what I paid for it a year ago and then immediately (8 days later when it died the 1st time) put a new timing belt, timing chain, timing chain tensioner, water pump, & cam shaft in it. Those parts have less than 100 miles on them because it died again after 8 days of driving. To say this is a lemon is an understatement. Oh well...I guess the bus is the way to go for me. Thanks for your detailed response. I appreciate it!
