Default If Audi switched from belts to chains it would have noted so in the literature

in the press release - like it did on the S4 V8.

Although the chain still needs to be serviced like the belt(very unusual) which means pulling the engine on the S4.

Default No the 2.0T still uses a belt

They only use chains in motors that are compact such as the 4.2 V8.

Please posts links with facts. If it is conjecture - but based on intuition like mine say so.

Not 100% sure, I think its a belt, they used chains on the 4.2 because of space

Default Correction about the 2.0T FSI

The 2.0 happens to use a belt and the 3.2 uses a chain. I was almost certain they were both chains but I guess pobodys nerfect.

Default Thanks - that is real data.

Now I wonder if it is in the front or rear of the engine(like the S4)

Default Its hard to tell but...

It looks like the belt on the 2.0 is in the front and the 3.2 the chain sits in the rear.
