Default If Audi wants to be like BMW by changing the oil fiter to just the paper alone why the heck

did the damn engineer make it so hard to replace. They should get schooled by BMW engineers about placement. From what I remember there filters are on top simple unscrew of the cap and bam you have easy access to the oil filter media and replace and your on your way.

This is very disappointing on how desperate Audi is on trying to make a buck :\

how many people do you think change their own oil in a premium car? I really don't see a bid deal.

Default depends on the engine design. The 2.0T is underneath and most easily done with a special tool. The

filter in the 4.2L V8 in the Q7 is on top. I'm not sure what the big deal is, either way.

The S4 and RS4 is also on top and very easy to access.

Default well the newer non-m bmw's dont even have a standard dipstick. its sad.

the low oil light comes on and bmw says you need to get it towed.

Default if it's not included with the car I do my own oil changes not big deal on the 2.7 and 1.8 engines bu

t now that my scheduled maintenance is over and searching through the forum on the how to. I don't like what I see.

Default MB engines are the same, filter canister housing right at the front of the engine.

Changing those filters are so easy.

Yep, and 99% of BMW owners probably pay the dealership $400 to change it

i think my 3.2 is the same way. i havent changed it myself yet, ill do myself at 10k, and everybody it trying to make a quick buck its not a new thing
