If Audi wants to be like BMW by changing the oil fiter to just the paper alone why the heck
did the damn engineer make it so hard to replace. They should get schooled by BMW engineers about placement. From what I remember there filters are on top simple unscrew of the cap and bam you have easy access to the oil filter media and replace and your on your way.
This is very disappointing on how desperate Audi is on trying to make a buck :\

depends on the engine design. The 2.0T is underneath and most easily done with a special tool. The
filter in the 4.2L V8 in the Q7 is on top. I'm not sure what the big deal is, either way.

if it's not included with the car I do my own oil changes not big deal on the 2.7 and 1.8 engines bu
t now that my scheduled maintenance is over and searching through the forum on the how to. I don't like what I see.
