If you can't park a car, how the heck can you drive it?

Today my mom parked her car on the street a couple houses down from ours while I was loading some stuff into our suburban. I walk out to see a minivan parked really close to her car, so I walk up to check it out. Not only did the idiot in the minivan hit my mom's car, the driver didn't even bother to move their car after the hit. The bumper of the minivan was still touching my mom's car. How are these people allowed on the road? The driver didn't even have to parallel park, they just pulled in behind and hit my mom's car. Still waiting for the jerk to come back to his car...

Just saw the driver...
Mom with a little kid, I saw her just as she was putting the kid in the car so I ran downstairs to catch her and she sped off. I even left a note with my address and phone number and told her to stop by as soon as she got back to the car. Good thing I have 18 high resolution pictures of the damage, her license plate, and VIN. If she doesn't call do I report this to the police, or call the DMV to trace the plate?

Keep us updated will you? Fun story when you actually catch them do this crap.
|
I'm not sure why you waited. I would have reported it to the police immediately.
|
File a police report now. Don't wait for a response
Technically it is a hit and run.
|
Yes, call. Print out your pics for the police report.

A soccer mom. Um.. there's a surprise.
|
Her bumper looks cracked and scuffed. You're not the first one nor the last one she hit.
I don't know how insurance works where you live, but here there isn't anything you can/should do about this type of a hit. Small claims is the only good solution imho.
|
yes. wait. I wait or I pull away and leave them a suprise.
|
Not sure if he's in Cali, but a lot of area police won't respond unless someone is injured.
But definately call it in. That's BS.
