Default iPod again and again

OK, now I have my car I really need to get this iPod hookup going.

- I have Nav+ but no SAT radio.
- I am willing to give up my glove box CD changer

1: I understand there is an Icelink cable that I can use to plug into the current CD changer cable, is this correct?
2: If I do this I will not nead to remove the actual Nav+ system to plug anything into the back?
3: Has anyone actually done this?
4: Can they post detailed description of how to do this?
5: Is it relatively simple?
6: Has anyone found this solution works well with the 5G video ipod?
7: Where should I buy this cable?

Please help...

Default Go to dealer - pay...

I tried this. If you have the tools (no problem)

if not - do a search on b7 forum (this forum) I tried to do iPod myself a few months back (complete w/ pics). I ended up at the dealer with a "story"

best-

Will the dealer even install it? Were you trying to install the cable that connects to the head unit or to the CD changer cable?

If I buy a cable and show up, the dealership will install it?

Default You'll need to schedule an appointment

And of all things.... expect to pay more as you'll have to pay for labour at their hourly shop rates for 1-2 hours.

But they will happily install a third party OEM cable?

Default No they won't install anything but the Audi OEM cable

If you want to get somebody to install some other cable like the Dension or Blitzsafe, you'll need to look around for a stereo shop.

Well my dealership told me there was no iPod solution for my car, so they either don't know or don't like the Audi solution.
