I may be in the position to trade my 2001.5 A4TQ for a new one. I really like the styling and the drive of my old A4. Is it worth the update?
How is the 6 speed Tiptronic?

Do it. 6-speed tip is a big upgrade from the 5-speed in the B6.

Default Yes

I had a 2001.5 A4 1.8TQ with the celebration package, had all options except the ski sack, ESP and CD changer. Moving from the B5 to the B7 was great... I was contemplating on the B6 because of the better price and dealers trying to move old stock, but the 2.0T is a much better and smoother engine than the 1.8T. 6-speed was also a very big welcome finally. Sport suspension from old to new, a lot more different. Had a go with the B7 on the track and the suspension is much more refined and predictable to me.

Styling-wise, the A4 still looks great IMO, but as with anything it does look a little dated when you have one parked next to the B7. Though some still don't like the fishmouth grill or the rear, I liked it a lot when I finally seen it in person and it also looks great when you see one coming up fast in your rearview mirror! Only thing though, boo to the new Civic, seen one this morning, boy does it look a lot like the B7's rear (but not as smooth).

Only thing I miss - my old cloth sport seats.

If I were you, and I am in a way, I'd wait for the B8.
