Just got back from my first DE with elevation. What a blast. This track is incredible - no wonder people come from all over.
Two quick points:
1. Youtube - How cool is it to find video of people on the same track to familiarize oneself before going? Our own bhvrdr posted one in his S4 (Thanks Mike!) and I watched it and others about 50 times to show up with the track already memorized.
2. Quattro - Thursday was sunny and cool. Perfect day. Then it rained all night and yesterday morning, so the track was saturated and there was even some standing water for the first run. So I took it easy - for a while. While the Porsches were tip-toeing (it was a PCA event), I was having a blast trying to make the car drift. Fun stuff. I never thought I'd be enjoying a car so much 3 years after buying it.

Good times... Which run group were you in? No tip toeing on my part. :o)
I was in run group B and had a blast!
First time out with the Cayman S on a dry/drier track and it felt great to see what the car is capable of doing - WOW!
I still have a lot to learn about this car, though. The mid engine layout is just not natural to me yet - after 8 years of DE in front engine rwd/awd cars.

Love the Cayman S
Being from an outside club, and having a non-Porsche, I signed up for C. And I think it was the right group for me - not as much speed differential as I would have seen in B.
Glad to see someone else here that went. We drove about 13 hours each way and it was totally worth it.
How do you like your Porsche? It's an awesome looking car, but I haven't driven one.

Thanks! The CS is the best enthusiast choice** Porsche offers - in need of a TBD.
Several times around the track, each lap, I found the inside tire slipping and gripping, which was an obvious sign to me the car needs the torque biasing differential (Quaife). The car has great balance, but could still benefit from tweaking to make it handle even better. Another CS owner I met at the track said he got the combo figured out - GT3 control arms, camber caster plates for proper alignment, and H&R sway bars.
**Under $120k.
