The More I read about FSI, The more I want to seat back and Watch. 2 Cats, an exhaust gas cooler.

Why? What are you talking about?

Your cite is over 2.5 years old!

You say you want to sit back and watch. Then, you cite an article that was published in July 2002. It was probably written before July 2002. So, it is almost three years old! And, you want to wait some more? I could either point out that since the article Audi has FSI technology on their A8 race car to win LeMans back to back to back, or ask you if you wear suspenders with your belt to keep your pants up. In current automotive circles, three years may be considered a full generation. But, you may be right. If you're not convinced, and you won't even be able to buy a full FSI engine, you might want to wait another five or six years to see if this works.

Where do I start.

1st the injectors have a pressures of up to 110 bar, try replaceing them of cheap I bet they will be 200 to 300 a piece. What about A fuel that can make 110 Bar( this is like 1600 psi.) I know it runs of the cam shaft.

2nd The intake manifold on the 2.0 TFSI is made from a high-tech plastic. It also integrates the charge movement flaps, the position of which is adjusted by a continuous-action pilot motor. The optimum movement of the airflow, or tumble, can thus be controlled on the basis of the engine-speed and load conditions.( now we have seen Audi's high-tech plastic on the S4 Bi-T's Y pipe at 100K mile there is a 75% change it needs to replaced becouse of leaks. Moving flaps ( just another moving part that can fail.)
Just read the link and count the number of new thing that are in this motor.

I just think Audi/VW are taken a Big bet on FSI. I hope it pays off.

I have not even got in to the Drive adds BS,

http://news.kak.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=arti cle&sid=283</a

I did want when I got this Audi, I also got it before E-gas or DBW

so Waiting it not a problem. Did you know that there was an AUDI Engeree at every R8 that watched the Drive start it. I had a M3 Race car with 225K miles it. So what is your point Race cars are not the same. You want a real race test put FSI in an F1 car and let it push 19K RPM for a full race.

Your knowledge vs. Audi's?

"I just think Audi/VW are taken a Big bet on FSI. I hope it pays off."

You might be right, but, I'd have to bet on VWAG's R&D and experience over yours. I have to assume the VWAG financial people wouldn't allow such a huge gamble be taken. VWAG is owned 1/3 by the auto workers' union. I'd be surprised if the union would gamble the future of their members if this were as risky as you say.
