Must a dealer install the a4 engine software?
So APR and Neuspeed are out. I'm a 1/4 mile from an APR dealer here in Dallas. The only Neuspeed dealer is in Houston. Do I need to go to these guys in order to install this engine mod?
I've also been researching other products that aren't out yet. GIAC, Revo, Awe Tuning turn up. I don't know the reputations of any of these companies. How do I choose to get what's out now versus wait for these other companies?
I agree that a future chip shootout would be king. We also need an official, unbiased M3 vs chipped A4 shootout!

APR and GIAC are most respected in the B5 realm and make great software.
REVO is newer and also great, MTM does not seem to have a large dealer network. Neuspeed has always been 2nd class, but deserves better.
Go to the dealer that is close to you, in case of any issues, they will be there for you. So, go with APR. GIAC may come out with code that makes extra 10 lbs of torque, but then APR will upgrade theirs as well.
