Won't say which dealer or which tech (but both have a good reputation), but I got past the I3 update with my APR unscathed. They simply didn't do the update, only the required airbag update, which has nothing to do with flashing an engine tune.
Much of it applied only to CVT and Tip cars anyway....

They also made my keyfob open and close the windows like I asked.

No courtesy car, so they rented me a GMC 1500 and didn't make me pay for fuel....gave me a nice wash/vac too.

Amazing what genuine niceness, a couple shirts and some beer flow will get you!

Be cautious that may mean they documented you have a chip....

Ive lived in the St Pete and the Melbourne area in the past though. Thanks for the tip. I'm moving into a family condo for now while I save up and look for a property I may want to keep down the road.
