Need Help here! A4 Avant S line 3.2 or 2.0T for mountain driving ????
In the next few months my 4-Year Allroad lease is over.
With gas prices, I'm thinking of getting an A4 Avant S-line 2.0T because of the gas mileage.
However! I frequently go up the mountains and go into steep roads. Will the A4 Avant 2.0 work? or should I get the more powerful A4 Avant 3.2 with the V6 engine for mountain driving?
Any suggestions to those who have driven both ath A4 2.0 and 3.2 ???? Thanks in advance.

I drove both the A4 2.0T Q-Tip and A4 3.2 Q-Tip at altitudes between 4000' and 8000' above sea level for 1/2 day each. At about 5000', it felt like the 3.2 and 2.0T had about the same power. Above 6000' I felt like the 2.0 T was a little stronger. At 8000' the 2.0T was definitely stronger. I purchased the 2.0T, because I live at a higher altitude. Do a search, because this has been discussed before.

What he said
Gotta compress some air (oxygen) into those cylinders with the turbo
You'll also get better MPG if you're concerned about gasoline prices...Whatever you choose, get Quattro

Re: 2.0T rocks in the Colorado mountains. Has plenty of power...
I asked the same question of a friend of mine in Denver and I was surprised when he told me the same thing. He has a 2.0T

THANK YOU ALL ! I'm incline to go with the A4 Avant 2.0
Thanks for all your help.
It will be painful to part with my Allroad, but seems like the A4 has excellent gas mileage and I need to drive 240 miles back and forth up the mountains - I'm getting a vacation home up there.
