Hello! I have an opportunity to buy a 2006 A4 Avant, auto, 165,000 miles for $3,000, possibly less if offer less. This is what I know about the car so far. Owned by an older gentleman that used it for commuting. Its been sitting around 4 months. Have been told body and interior are in excellent shape. It might need brakes. I am a little hesitant due to it being so high in mileage. The owner said at 140k miles the main drive belt was replaced. He said that this was an expensive/important repair. What's typically included with that kind of repair? Am I crazy for even contemplating this? What else should I look for when looking over the car? He is in no rush to sell and I am not going to be seeing the car until Wednesday.
