Default New Winter Mats stink

I just picked up my winter floormats from the audi dealer, and they stink horribly. Any one else have this issue, did you wash them, hose them off, etc...????

Its a very harsh rubber smell

No issues, juts give them a day or so. May want to air them outside if it really bothers you.

Default Took a couple of days for the smell to go away in the car.

I left them in my garage out of the box for a few days before putting them in the car, though.

The Porsche mats in my Touareg were the same way.

Default Hand wash them

I had the same thing. The Audi catalog actually warns of this and recommends washing them in mild detergent. I just used liquid dish detergent and let them dry.

It took alot, but not all, of the smell away. The rest went away in a few days.

Default Thanks........

I am currently soaking them in the bathtub, filled with water and a little mild scent free hand soap.

Hopefully this helps the smell was giving me a headache

Default No Problem. Give them a little scrub with a sponge.

I did mine in the kitchen sink in about 5 minutes with dish washing liquid and scrubbed them a little with a kitchen sponge.

But I don't have a wife to answer to anymore. LOL
