Opinion - Who ever packaged the iPod Integration kit...

had their head "WAY" up their ass.

Things that are NOT included: (Two very important tools)
- Rings to remove radio/nav
- Screw driver type thing to remove/plug in wires
- English instructions??? - Yes, the most important installation information is in "german" (i think) -- blaaaaa!!!

Extremely out bummed out trying to get the kit installed - Calling it a wasted evening - update to follow...

I really don't think the Audi Kit is meant as DIY....

Got to say, I agree.

Agree, not for the average DIYer

The directions are awful...and not many DIYers are comfortable modifying wiring harnesses. This is one of those jobs that probably takes 1+ hours the first time you do it, but you could do it the second time in only 10 minutes.
This is not a user friendly "plug and play" kit (like the Dension Icelink appears to be- after you remove the head unit). Also, I don't expect many people have the proper tools for wire removal.
I got mine Audi adapter the other day. Last night, I pulled the HU and just stared at the connector and the directions for about 45 minutes just to figure out what the hell needed to be done...and this is after (thankfully) reading John Stahmann's informative post.
Since I only have three wires to remove, I'm going to try to consruct a makeshift "wire pusher" tool out of one side of one of those black clips you use to old a bunch of papers together..when a normal paper clip won't do. It looks like it would be similar to the proper tool. If successful, I will submit a follow up post.
If to do over, I think I'd go for the iceLink. However, the densionusa website did not seem to show a model specifically designed for the B7, as it only went up to year 2005. Another benefit of the Dension, is that it includes a "cradle" for the iPod...which the audi kit does not.

bad thing about the cradle is you must remove.....

your iPod from what ever case you are using.

This was a major negative in my book, i just wanted something I can connect to my ipod and throw in the glove box. The OEM adapter was perfect for this.
