Paging Tanner...
Any update on your cracked driver's seat? From the sound of your post, I am seeing the exact same thing and am looking for some tips as to how to approach Audi to get it warrantied. TIA

It was covered under warranty
The service guy there took a photo of it and sent it to Audi of Canada. He told me that most likely that they will cover this under warranty and it was.
If not, take a picture of it and write an email to AOA with the picture or send it via mail if you don't get anywhere with your dealership.

Re: Just the seat bottom was replaced
In my case the side bolster on the seat back is splitting. I had to take it back to the dealer a second time so the Audi Rep could look at it. Apparently the Audi dealerships aren"t cabable of making such tuff calls weather or not to have it mended as I was first told or to have it replaced. The Audi Rep was willing to replace the seat cover on the backrest only. I told him I wanted a new seat. No way was the answer. I then asked for a seat back assembly so it would be a relatively easy unbolt and swap. The answer was no way. So I'm stuck with having the dealer take my seat apart and have a new cover stretched on. I can only imagine how this is going to look. What is equally concerning is that when I mentioned that the bolster on my seat is splitting the service advisor, the service manager and the Audi rep opened my car door and looked at the seat bottom first. Is this an expected place for the seat to fail next? Why did all 3 people on seperate occasions look there first?
I'm not happy with this fix or am I expecting too much?

Honestly, you're expecting too much.
If your seatback cover is split they should replace the seatback cover.
They're not going to give you a whole new seat, nor should they be required to.
And yes, the seat bottom seems are a common place for splits.

As said below, you're expecting too much to have the whole seat replaced
They only replace what is required, not the whole seat and everything. Also they're not stretching anything or what not, it's the shell plus the surface that is being replaced and any parts that can be swapped out inside will be carried over.
