Default The strip isn't going to affet any airflow

For starters the rebar is behind that area.. so a 4 mil thick plastic strip is not going to be an issue when a 6" tall 4" deep piece of aluminum is in the way.

That being said.. Airflow is yes important but one of the other advantages of a larger IC is simply just its ability to work as a larger heat sink.

well actually the rebar was removed, cant have the fmic if the rebar is there, greddy kit..found that out after i bought it..im planning on buying the awe fmic, that ones designed t have the rebar,it covers the whole radiator, but that will be when i get the bt kit..i just feel that id be getting more direct air if the strip wasnt there

you won't lose anything with the strip.. and are you sure its meant for no rebar vs cut rebar?

you can cut the rebar but then whats the point of having it, you have to cut the rebar alot to get it to fit and if you get into a crash the first thing thats going to happen is the front will cave in and stab right throught he fmic and possibly more aside from the whole thing just bending slightly(depending on impact)..

Default For staters the rebar ties the front end together which helps with handling and chassis stiffness

secondly Do you not thing the front of the persons car hitting you won't stab in and do more damage.

I've done probably 50plus FMIc installs on various cars and have always kept the rebar even when trimming is required to the point that its quite thin.. something is better then nothing no matter what.

Default cant argue with that, but look at it from my point of view

i dont have the tools to cut, and for having it on really thin, i dont think its practical to pay someone to cut it and fit it. although it would be smart to have it on, i bought the kit before i knew that and i will be getting the awe set up once it comes out, so the rebar will be put back in..so is there any kind of grill out there like one im looking for, mostly for the fmic, but also because i dont like the grey strip
