Power steering
I have a 2005.5 A4 2.0T and on the drive home last night I started to notice a whining noise from my power steering. When I got home I checked to see if it was low on fluid and found that it was and was also smoking a bit. I added the correct hydraulic fluid and let it sit for the night and the same thing happend on my drive into work. By the time I got to work my steering was so stiff I could barley drive the car. Anything anyone has experinced or would know anything about???

First thing to check is the hoses to/from the power assistance pump. There's a clamping arrangement that tends to leak. That was the initial issue on my 2005 A4. A few months later my power steering started to really make groaning noises. Took it back to the dealer and they then diagnosed a steering rack problem which they replaced under CPO warranty as well.
Since you're unlikely to still have warranty, I'd check all the hoses first and see if that fixes your problem. Steering racks are expensive so you don't want to go down that route if you don't need to.
