Default Question...Assistance Requested

I recently got a DTM front bumper and with that my foglights are deleted. Does anyone know the type of resistors I need to get to cap the wires with so my car doesnt think that my foglight bulbs are out. wattage or ohms? Thanks

Default I used a pair of 1 Ohm 10 Watt resistors

One for each fog light plug. I pretty much just bent the leads on the resistors and plugged them in to the fog light plugs then taped them up really well with electical tape.

If you turn on the fog light switch for more than about 15 seconds the resistors heat up and the fog light bulb out warning light comes on, but if you accdentally turn on the fogs for a couple of seconds there's no warning.

So that means no rear fog then, huh? I really like the rear fog.

Default Yeah, no front fog = no rear fogs.

Rear fogs would have come in handy yesterday coming home from the track. Crazy downpour!

Oh well. DTM>fogs

Default Hmm. I could live without the fronts, but living here in Seattle,

I really like the comfort of the rear fog in the crappy fall/winter weather. I'd definitely have to take a hard look at solving that one.

Default I believe you can disable your front fogs by VAGCOM.

There is a setting for the DTM bumper (no front fogs), but I need someone to confirm. Or maybe you can try searching the forum.

Here is what I've found:

In module 09 - Central Electronics there is supposed to be a channel 16 that is called Fog Lights Cold Diagnosis.

Channel 016: Fog Light Cold Diagnosis
0 = Fog Light Cold Lamp Diagnosis active
1 = Fog Light Cold Lamp Diagnosis inactive (i.e. for DTM Edition)

Hope this works!

Default That coding doesn't work.

Several of us have tried to recode using that coding but the controller won't accept the code.

The DTM edition S4 has a different switch, but at over $100 from the dealer it's not worth buying one to just 'check out'.
