Default question on (long awaited) iPod cable connection...

When and if the dealers ever get this cable, what will the installation entail?? I noticed that there appears to be a couple cut-outs in the back of the glove box. Is there a cable connection behind them, or are you going to have to gain access to the back of the head unit? (my car has Symphony II with no nav)
Someone on the A3 forum indicated that they should arrive shortly (although we've all heard that b4)

Default The cutouts are for the glovebox CD changer

THere are no cables back there. If the installation is similar to that of the Dension Icelink you will have to pull the headunit out to connect the cable. You can easily route the wire through the back of the glovebox. I did have to take one of the small cutouts to pull the cable through.

Default pretty easy..with the right tools

You'll need something like this. Note that two sets (4 total) are required.

Do you have to disconnect the leads from the trunk to attach an IceLink?

I think it only works in the A3. Not sure what's different.

Yes, I know how to do it... I'll do a writeup shortly after the holidays. Just haven't had time yet

Well, that's the holy grail, so if you can do it then as far as I'm concerned you're God.
