Recent Purchaser, couple questions?
So I am an extremely excited recent purchaser of a '08 A4 Quattro with a 6 speed manual (Amazing); and I have a couple questions if anyone has got the time. So first off, it is a B7 or B8 series; I've seen and read things saying both? Does anyone recommend any necessary accessories to improve the experience? I’m looking at a carMD module to lookup any warning light dilemmas. Does anyone recommend any sort of code reader instead, or any at all? Lastly, I’ve tried finding a parts/accessories catalog; any suggestions? I like having a physical catalog in hand, and haven’t been able to locate one. Thanks for any insight.

It is probably a B7, easiest way to tell (without simply looking on Google for B7 and B8 A4's) will be to look at the center console. B8's have a multimedia screen, B7's do not (unless you have RNS-E navigation).
For a code reader, take a look at VAG-COM from Ross Tech. You can either buy the fully loaded version from them ($200+ IIRC) or look on eBay for one that will likely cost around $20. The only difference is that the eBay cable cannot perform as many things as the Ross Tech cable. But, for the average user the eBay cable works perfectly.
Part's catalog, I have no idea, the only ones I know of are online.

2005.5 thru 2008 are B7's. Best parts catalogs are online. ECS Tuning and EuropaParts have been some good sources for me so far.
I bought my 07' A4 Quattro 2.0T about 5 months ago and am loving it. I had some oil leaks, but a new valve cover gasket and replacing a leaking PVC valve fixed it fast and easy. I thought the tires needed balancing, because at a certain speed there was a slight shutter. I replaced the spark plugs just because I thought it was due for it and what do you know the shutter was gone. It was a little missing at certain RPM's apparently.
The car is a lot easier to work on then I thought it would be.
Enjoy your new purchase and drive safe.
