I just purchased a 06 audi a4 quattro 2.0t and it ran fine for the first couple weeks and then i started to notice a spit and sputter between 3-5k rpm and at first it wasn't so bad then it started to occur more often but the really weird thing is that it only does it in 1st gear. This is my first turbo car i have had so this is all new to me so i am clueless as to what could be wrong with it and today it caused my check engine light to flash for a few seconds and then turned off and it hasnt come on since so if anyone has any idea and could help me with this much thanks

Check your coil packs. I have replaced all of mine at least once. If you run it under extremely gentle acceleration it may not feel bad and get you where you need to go. However, from experience, don't ignore it. I have talked with a fellow B7 2.0T owner who actually had his ECU fault killing the car entirely. I've limped home (15miles) in mine before but it wasn't pleasant. If you have the tools It's 10 minutes or less to replace one (I had to do one this morning lol). Screwdriver to loosen the coils and a torx for the two screws that hold the rail down. Not terribly expensive either.

Forgot to mention, if you can have the fault codes pulled it will tell you which cylinder is failing.

awesome thanks yeah it doesnt spit and sputter under slow acceleration but yeah today it finally kicked the CEL on and i went and had my codes read and cylinder 1 misfire i pulled the coil pack and plug out and the spark plug didnt seem to bad so i am just going to assume that its the coil pack so not to bad of a fix thank you for the much needed help

You might consider buying an extra and keeping one in the trunk. I lost one, then another within a week. This time it's just been the one, but I keep a spare around.
