So this morning I went to leave home and my car started but once I put it in D
the engine shut off and the battery light came on. I tried again but it wouldn't start, it'd just do the clicking. It's not a cold start issue,.... I park underground in a heated garage.
Ugh! I only have 12k miles on it (MY 2006 A4 purchased in August 2005), and I'm hoping it's just the battery, but the radio and everything (coming home lights) work...... Audi Roadside is dispatching a jumper to see if that works, and then a tow if that isn't the problem....
I'll let you all know how it goes.

Might be related to the keys.
My B6 was exhibiting similar problems due to the anti-theft key gizmo. If they haul it to the dealer, bring all of your keys with you. They reprogram them all...

well, it wasn't the keys...
after trying many times with the engine just turning and turning, had it towed to the dealership... photos to come later.
once at the dealership, the car started fine,... but didn't put it in D to see if it would shut down again. so they've got the car and are going to look at it. i have a red jetta as a loaner.
will post what they find, if anything, when they call me tomorrow.
