spacers plus wobble,
so i installed 10mm spacers, i cleaned both the hub surface and the wheels surface before torquing to 80lbs and of course i have the longer bolts now at only 55-60m/h i get a wobble through the steering wheel, and it goes away after 60, even at 120 its still feels smooth.
i cant figure it out, some one please help, TIA |
Are your spacers hubcentric?
answer to the hubcentric, yes, the rears are h&r and because ecs told me to get the ecs's which are lipped for the front ive got the ecs lipped 10mm in the front and the h&r's in the back, i feel the wobble in the wheel not in the seat of the pants,
Thanks |
maybe it is not tight enough or not seating flush
Loosen the lugs, lift the car, and with the tire off the ground, very slowly, and very evenly retighten the lugs. Rotate the wheel as you tighten them to help ensure the wheel is centered. Once you get the lugs tight, put the wheel back on the ground and torque to spec.

i like it thanks, makes sense too, which is what i go for, logic always prevails.
Your torque spec is WAY too low. I had to run 95 to 105 ft. lbs. (my mech. did it) to stop my wobble when I had 10mm H&R's for my former 18's.
HOLY crap 105lbs what happens if i get a flat, how the hell am i going to break it to change the tire? drop a bolder on it?
